CEO of 3rd Largest Black Bank in U.S. Will Be April 12 Guest on Economic Perspectives

Alden McDonald, President and CEO of Liberty Bank & Trust, was the April 12 guest on Economic Perspectives 5:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. central time on KAZI 88.7 FM.  McDonald was honored by Economic Perspectives as an African American Economic Trailblazer in February of this year.  Listen to the interview by clicking: Alden McDonald Interview

McDonald has served as CEO of Liberty Bank since 1972.   Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, it is the third largest African-American owned bank in the United States, with assets over $400 million.

Under McDonald’s leadership, Liberty Bank and Trust has played a major role in fostering the growth and development of Black-owned businesses in Louisiana. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he successfully steered Liberty Bank & Trust through the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 to record profits the following year.  More importantly, he continues to work on the revitalization of New Orleans.
