In Power Genes, executive coach Maggie Craddock reveals how to kick bad habits and use your power more effectively to advance your career. Craddock identifies four “power types”–Pleaser, Charmer, Commander, Inspirer–and explains how to diagnose your type. Next she walks you through a process for avoiding your type’s signature destructive reflexes and replacing them with new behaviors. She also shows how to interact productively with other people–peers, bosses, employees–of each type. “Power Genes” helps you jettison unproductive habits and take charge of your workplace relationships.

Ms. Craddock has worked with clients at all levels on the professional spectrum – from people reaching the Vice Presidential ranks for the first time to Fortune 500 CEOs.  Ms. Craddock is the author of The Authentic Career, a popular career guide that has been featured at business conferences across the nation.  She has also written several nationally syndicated articles on behavioral dynamics in the workplace, and her work has been discussed in Oprah Magazine.  She was recently a panelist at Deutsche Bank’s annual Women on Wall Street conference and is a regular speaker at leadership conferences for her corporate clients who include Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and JP Morgan.

Before building her executive coaching business, Ms. Craddock worked for over a decade on both the buy side and the sell side of the financial services industry.  As a Portfolio Manager at Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Ms. Craddock managed $3 billion in short-term global assets

Ms. Craddock received a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, specializing in Capital Markets.  She also received an MSW from New York University and is an Ackerman certified family therapist.  Ms. Craddock holds a BA in Economics from Smith College.
